Premiere: D2 – Sublee – Day Six [CPSLS001PART2]

Having already presented the stunning part one of After Caposiles extensive ‘Sound of the Garden’ VA it is now time to shine a light on the second part. As you might have guessed it is also packed to brim with feel good bangers made for al fresco dancing. The first part featured tracks from Super Moon, Silat Beksi, as well as resident Yaar Ku and our premiered track from Maggio. For part two there is more gold in the form of Mihai Pol, Giuliano Lomonte, After Caposile main man Francesco Maddelena and our next premiere from Sublee.

Even if you have not had a joy of attending an AC party one look at the many videos circulating the internet will give you all the context that you need to decide that Sublee’s “Day Six” track is a certifiable AC banger. Stripped back and groovey as it is euphoric, the simple percussive elements leave all the room required for the ethereal synth stabs to work their magic. The midway point drop has been expertly crafted with those hands in the air moments when the beat drops back in with a satisfying thud. Often met with cheers and whistles from all locked onto the dancefloor this is a regular occurrence when artists such as Sublee are in control.

Moving on to the beginning of the release and Romanian Mihai Pol, who possess an ungodly knack of working in such abstract sounds into his productions while keeping them irresistible to the raver. “Sugar Rush” is just that, like all his productions utterly moreish. The clipped hats, “off” claps and boudnding bassline always pack in such emotion into such a reduced piece of music. Next is “Breath Of Air” from top boy Francesca Maddelena and the energy levels are off the charts. Floaty synths dance across the tough garage tinged beats to form a beast of two halves.

Completing this fine double header VA is Giuliano Lomonte and “More Time”, designed for more deeper moments but still quintessential AC gear through and through. The solid beats and closed hats keep things simple while the cosmic synths swirl above overhead. If this doesn’t make you want to book your flight to Venice or indeed any of their upcoming European tour dates then I don’t know what will. See you in the garden.
