Premiere: B2 – Luc Ringeisen & Suburbial – Bonhomme De Chemin [ROTATE007]

Rotate007

Luc Ringeisen and Suburbial join forces in a collaborative EP for Rotate Music.

The joint works shape the label’s seventh release with three exquisite minimalist cuts. Sounds are heavily textured with a warm, subby aesthetic. Nimble basslines fizz between inquisitive and dissonant melodies, accustomed to the label’s sound.

Complimentary curation makes up their vinyl catalogue of crafty club cuts, featuring the likes of Denis Kanznacheev which we previously reviewed, Levi Verspeek and Cleymoore in a number of various artist releases.

‘Bonhomme De Chemin’ hosts a laid back, improvised feel in the featured premiere. Slinky hats caress a smug bassline that teases throughout the track. Notes slip in and out of the mix with a slick and fluent effect, packing ideas with character.

This jam-like approach brings a playful quality to the track. Simple, short sequences begin to communicate as the arrangement unfolds, revealing a more twisted and emotive palate. It’s the strain of casual, quirky minimal heard round the clock at Club der Visionaere.

The Berlin-based duo have shared countless back-to-back sessions as heard in last year’s podcast taken from an extended CDV session. An ear for intricate, audiophile DJ tools seeps through into the vibe of the record.

‘Aktivität’ stretches out for a blissful 10-minute workout on the A-side, before lifting the energy with ‘Simple et Precis’s twitchy attitude on the flip. Each cut has a sophisticated character. Sound design is precise and meticulous, built for a memorable, high-end listening experience.
