Outcast Torino have spent much of the last decade throwing parties in their hometown. A large following has grown over the years, with Outcast becoming one of the most sought after events on the scene. The collective has finally matured, defining its flavour, which is now ready to be represented on wax. Outcast Planet is the platform and Paolo Macri is stepping up to deliver the first edition.
Macri has long since been a resident in the collective, having shared lineups with big bookings such as Mandar, Praslea, Margaret Dygas, Francesco Del Garda and Sonja Moonear. He is a deep-rooted fixture, well placed to take the reins for the label launch.
‘Yoga For Beginners’ is a well-packed EP with five originals. We’ve taken ‘Control Q’ for the premiere.
The B side opener takes no prisoners. Acid forms the basis, swirling melody with madness while a hefty bassline keeps the beat rolling. Tension builds with tapping snares before a manipulated synth line breezes up and down. Crowd rousing material ensues as the acid kicks back in, an electronic energy beaming intergalactic chatter. Cool, unhurried vocal keeps the control.
While this isn’t something you’d normally attribute to a peaceful session of beginners yoga, it will do just the trick enlivening the dance floor. Buy the record from Juno or decks.de. The release date is as of yet unknown, although we are told it is on its way. In the meantime, check out our Trommel 2020 picks in which Macri featured.
