Having introduced you to Rendr Records back in September of last year by way of the first vinyl release from Alex Ranerro and Dutchman Aron Volta they are back. More peak time house sounds beckon with rising Sydney based artist Nate S.U.
For Nate’s first vinyl release he couldn’t be better placed to make a big splash. With the label riding high after their own debut vinyl release we pick up Nate’s ‘Man With The Tiny Mind’ EP on B1 track ‘Rum Strut’. Heading straight to peak time territory the pumping kick and acid-tinged synth wiggles right into your ear and that’s where it stays for most of the track. Opening and closing the filter to allow more funky goodness to pop through. The strings and synth combo firing away in the background speak directly to the female vocal which completes the picture nicely.
Staying with side B and Mannheim homeboy Fabe beefs up the groove on ‘Rum Strut’ considerably and toughens up the bassline even further. The result is a hunching deep house bomb that we are sure you have seen Fabian dancing about his studio to in one of his recent videos.
Circling back to the beginning of the record and ‘Tiny Minds’ features more feel-good peak house vibes. The influence of Detroit and French deep house is evident on this and also ‘Quincy’s One Two Groove’ as the balance struck between robotic electronics and lush organic musical elements is almost tangible.
The ‘Man With The Tiny Mind’ EP from Nate S.U is now available from deejay.de.
