Ukrainian artist Alex Pervukhin has been spreading his knowledge far and wide of late. From his EP on Sweaty Bull, his own fire imprint Laconica and previously Rawax, all have that distinctly unique vibe. His next piece of work is an especially dreamy collection of head turners on Iranian label Taste Not Waste.
Ukrainian rising star Alex Pervukhin returns with another chunky slice of cosmic weaponry and we pic up with B1 banger ‘U Kool’. Raw hats flit between synth tones and the lush pad that slowly evolves throughout the track before it is given the spotlight. Perhaps one of Alex’s more subdued, groovier tracks out there but this is a side to his work that is sure to have just as many fans. Completing the B side is more spacey goodness in the form of ‘More Morening’ and the thought of hearing this bomb as the morning breaks is absurd. Of course B2 will fit in nicely in most situations where there is a need for high grade electronic music.
Flipping back over to A1 and ‘Intergalactical’ is more a return to Pervukhin’s more upfront style but with a new found smoother edges. Ravey synth stabs work especially well with tight percussion to open up the release with maximum impact. We finish our look at TNW008 with ‘Wright Right’ and the star fuelled soundtrack is completed with an emotive breathy workout that could almost be an extension of the previously mentioned tracks. Alex Pervukhin turns in a seriously cohesive four tracker that easily cements him as an artist with serious range.
