Premiere: B1 – A:G – Time Factor [DGS009]

Oslo based, worldwide focused crew Det Gode Selskab return to Tiger Town with their next vinyl-only EP from team player A:G. With a slew of travel plans incoming they will be off on maneuvers to Paje, Zanzibar and Mexico, but first lets dig into DGS009.

Firstly, we take delivery of “TIme Factor” and no time is wasted here in stamping the groove on the track. Massive robotic bass tones rebound along with the bell motif that ensures that there is no slip in the rhythm. Filtered synth washes recall a more simpler time in electronic music, but this track has both feet firmly in the future. Rounding out side B on the vinyl release is “Cognitive Resonance” and it is absolutely jam packed with insanely catchy sub bass and rim cracking percussion. Again, treading a sonic path that will feel familiar to lovers of 90s house music, but this is a surefire secret weapon and no mistaking.

Back on side A and A1 track “Crash” kicks off the EP in similarly bombastic fashion. The bumpy basslines are met with a laser focused hi-hats, scything snares, and a wiggly synth that hints at an Eastern influence. Completing side A is “Sleepwalking” and the atmospheric synth work is perfect for wanting to change the mood of the floor for the darker. There is also a digital track for those lucky enough to have grabbed the release on Bandcamp and “Afterglow” smacks as hard as you might expect from a label such as DGS. Leaving the beats stripped back, the focus is instead on the strength of the distilled synth parts.

You can grab the release on Deejay.de and keep an eye out for grabbing that digital track via Bandcamp.
