Premiere: A1 – Marius – Scooba Receptor [TYD004]

A pattern appears to be emerging with Tresydos record releases, which continue to feature in our premieres. Most recently we focused the spotlight on Adult Sonics’ ‘Their Hands In Motion’ EP. The roster of artists keeps on growing and this time the family welcome Marius into the fold with a rather large five track EP.

The French producer hit off to a good start with his debut release back in 2018, over on the digital imprint of Inwave. He has since been honing in on his talents, a testament proven having earned himself a place in our top 100 tracks of 2019. We’ve now taken ‘Scooba Receptor’ for the premiere from his latest 12″.

It makes for a charming opening to the record, as deep breaks and warm keys set the scene. The acid tinged bassline breathes a mellow groove underneath tapping hi hats. Influences of garage trickle in through a choppy vocal whilst housey melodies dance back and forth elegantly. This classy combination of genres sets the scene for the versatility of the tracks to follow.

‘Tentrix Quest’ on A2 is a much smuttier affair, deeper and darker house with echoing organs and robotoic voices. Over on the B side, ‘Player 2’ represents the upbeat of the bunch while the interestingly named ‘Super Marshmallow Kingdom’ injects the acid. The record ends on a downbeat with ‘1977 Electronics’ closing the chapter with mysterious frequencies.

Seemingly centred around gaming and technologies, the underlying sounds of the tracks mirror their quirky titles. Level up with this one from Juno or deejay.de as of 24th June.
