Premiere: 4 – Djosh – Hasselnussen [NZRV004]

Na Zrak Records are releasing a rather large VA this month. The Italian label have been churning out releases over the last couple of years. Their celebrated flavour is deep, minimal tech and a whole host of artists have been invited for their input. A bunch of them have now been drafted in for the label’s biggest VA yet, with seven originals produced alongside label owner Djosh.

Djosh (real name Giovanni Oriani) already has a string of releases and remixes under his belt and this is not the first time for him to appear on his own platform. Clearly an artist dedicated to his cause, Djosh has a formula to match an endless supply of ideas, allowing him to churn out quality beats in quick succession.

‘Haselnussen’ is his latest edition to the catalogue, as part of the ‘Reach The Peace Of Mind’ EP. It starts with a deep, relaxed beat, warmed by drifting synths and tranquil birdsong. Trippy, chopped vocal announces the gently rolling groove that follows. Acid tinged melodies lift in the background while dreamy notes of spoken word echo intricately. This combination of soft but serious provides the building blocks to an atmospheric and spacious piece laced with a generous helping of euphoria.

All moments are catered for between the rest of the artists. DAT (Italy) serves the dancefloor heat, Enivrèz Vous & Zenk the deep ambience, Simone Adinolfi the twisted hypnosis. From one track to the next, the energies differ, making this VA as interesting as it is full.

The digital EP will be released soon and can be purchased on Beatport/Bandcamp.
