Meditative minimal from two of Paris’ finest.
French imprint Aeternum Music launches new sub-label Aeternum LTD. The label will host a collaborative series, inviting a different artist to contribute to each release, alongside label owner Lowris.
Cabanne is the first to feature, joining forces with Lowris under their K.O.D (Kings of Delay) moniker, the duo deliver two mesmeric cuts of psychedelic minimal.
The uninterrupted repetition familiar with this corner of dance music encourages a meditative listening experience. Neat, simplistic drum patterns draw focus away from the foundations of the track, casting onto the hypnotic intricacies buried in the depths.
Driven by an incessant groove, fragments of cryptic inner-thought conversation scurries in and out of the mix; sculpting a dark, after-hours atmosphere. Dissonant bleeps surface alongside an elegant bassline, balancing the chaos of the vocal with a sophisticated touch.
Cabanne and Lowris are no stranger to the leftfield territory of minimal house. As well as sharing countless hours behind the decks in residencies at Paris’ Concrete, the pair have been sculpting their own strain of psychedelic minimal since the early 2000’s.
