iO (Mulen) is ready to present his third album on his own Mulen Records, this time as a classic 2×12” release (unlike the previous one, where the records were sold separately, letting you buy any record you wanted from it). The album showcases Sasha’s signature style, which we first heard in his previous album and later on the Ecstasy EP. It’s all killers, no fillers—let’s break it down track by track.
Let’s start with the last side, since “Trance Mission” is there. Arguably the standout track, it’s already been played by many on the scene—and for good reason. Its rave elements, inspired by the late ’80s/early ’90s Belgium scene, make it a perfect fit for large crowds.
“I’m Waiting For,” also on the D-side, serves as a perfect closing track, adding a touch of Italy to the Belgian-inspired rave vibes. On the C-side, “Come With Me” is a bit heavier, while “Bass For Love” has some tropical influences, doubling the energy of the D-side.
“Rock Like This,” the opener, greets us with bleep elements disguised within its ravey nature. “Your Space” introduces some playful breakbeats, while “How Do You Say” brings THAT vocal sample alongside ravey percussions. “Emergency” rounds things out with a full-blown organ crash. These four tracks fill up the A and B-sides.
An album where every track is a full-speed banger – a rare thing, to be honest. You can already grab it on Deejay, Decks, Redeye or any other good record store.
