Premiere: D1 – Chris Carrier – Blue Trail [MS05]

Lumbago sublabel Metallic States goes with the biggest release so far. Massive album (the first one!) from the legendary Chris Carrier.

We’re starting almost from the end. The D1 position hides “Blue Trail”, a powerful banger with its trancey notes, which is kinda a reward for you for listening carefully to the 6 tracks before this one.

The album ends with “Fusion”, a slower, breaky piece, as we all love: totally not an outro. The C-side also has a slow one. Calm “Liquid Sky” kinda puts us in a trance, while “Parallel Effect” sends you directly to the dancefloor.

The album starts with the slow pace again. “Climax Community” has that chillout-room-of-the-90s feel and also sets the mood for the whole album perfectly. “Infinity”, being the first dancefloor-y track of the release, does its work perfectly too with its psychedelic, euphoric vibe. “Nocturnal Energy” sounds like it’s a hidden gem from Discogs that will cost you a fortune, but at the same time, in this setup, almost a tool. And the last one mentioned, “Door Of Illusion” will also be a downtempo one. The matter of taste: if you’re into that type of music, the album will fit you perfectly.

The record is waiting for you at the record stores, but it shouldn’t be for a long time. So: Deejay or Lumbago’s Bandcamp. Go!
