Amsterdams’ Locked-In label is ready with its newest fourth instalment, welcoming Session 4000 for the showcase. The result we can see here – a great 4-tracker, totally suitable for the dancefloor. Just as we love.
We’re going straight to the B-side, where “Get Down” is hiding. We are promised “Bumping rhythm and spraying synths” – and not only that. A long journey of rolling percussions and some buzzing on the background (I think, we call that sound “wonky” now, no?). And, of course, a nine-minute track could be very helpful for the DJ. If he wants to leave the booth for a bit… And not lose the dancefloor after coming back.
Also on the B-side – “Mr. Freeze” – a much calmer and shorter track. Cool, delicate, perfect for the morning, I would say. Changing sides – we’re on the A-side now, where “Panaka” sets the tone for the whole record with its jumpy groove and bassline. “Second Skin”, also from the A-side being the most stripped-down one on the record, still catches you with that background buzz. Straight into the bag then.
Four tracks – and all are perfect for playing. If you think so too – Juno or Deejay are already waiting for your pre-orders.
