Olivian Nour’s ‘Unhuman’ EP may be the first foray on his own SESE Records imprint but he could not have given his new label a better start. This 3 track EP, which was written around 2 years ago has been gathering a fair bit of momentum in the underground scene since the beginning of the open-air season and looks to propel Olivian to new heights.
The EP begins with lead track ‘Unhuman’ on A1 and makes great use of a huge detuned bassline and sharp open hats. Once the track opens up around midway through the full complexity of Olivians mixing style is revealed. The same can be said for the more minimal leaning cut on B2 track ‘Story’.
As great as these 2 tracks are, and they are great tracks, it is the B1 bomb that has been pricking up ears at gatherings such as Sunwaves, Mioritmic among countless others. The deep bounding bassline and uplifting vibe of ‘Hakuna Matata’ is sure to do great things for SESE and shine a well-deserved light on Olivians production and DJ skills. Having been getting some serious support from his close friends Nu Zau, Sepp, Livio and Roby, Prichindel, Barac and r.hitect amongst others ‘Hakuna Matata’ marks the arrival of SESE with a bang. If there is any doubt as to the validity of this track, test it out during those magical early daybreak hours and get ready for a spinetingling reaction.
