Aldonna, not a first-timer in our premieres section, turns her curated mix series Re-Leaf into a label, Re-Leaf Records. And the first name on the roster will be her own—another EP of her already recognisable signature style. Let’s check it.
“Venus”, our main track today, is already tested on some big and not-so-big dancefloors. And you know what – it has that versatility to fill both types. Echoes will work on some big ones, but at the same time – it’s not overpumped with some unnecessary (for small venues) euphoria, just the right amount of it. Almost UK progressive sounds of the 00s, with those Aldonna’s signature galloping percussions. Perfect!
But the record starts with “Rush” – that stripped-down euphoric tool, perfect for any outdoor location, I guess, with that almost hidden piano solo, closer to the end of the track. “March, Together” from the B1 position goes into the same category, with something, like, 10% energy. And the last one on the record is 123-BPMed “Break Love” with Yaiflai on the vocal duties. It’s a perfect slow-dancing track for those who just got tired for a little.
