The debut album of Sasha Pervukhin on a new label Nataraja, under Carpet & Snares distro. Maybe, not in a classic “album” way (without interludes, there are only 4 tracks here after all), but as a complete story. Today we’re going to skip all the “non-tracks” (we’ll leave them to those who’ll buy the full album) and will focus on the main stuff here… Starting with the A1.
“Pain Is A Drug” kinda sends us to the late Laconica works – those that are heavy on the house, rave, emotions, organ pads, and all other things, you can associate with Sasha’s name. A definition of the peak-time stripped-down banger.
“Faith”, carrying all the things we just mentioned here, sounds like it just jumped from the bag of, let’s say, Quest. With all its dark and mystic vibe, it is heavy for listening and easy to dance to. “She Is A Vampire” is a bit closer to our today’s premiere (yes, again Laconica throwback), while “I’m Wit U” takes this retro vibe to the max (at the same time it adds a bit of modern electro-house bass, so…).
