Chat Noir Distribution and their in-house label Chat Noir Tools are gathering all their stars into one All-Star Game. If you were watching the label before – all the names should sound familiar to you. Vitess, Occibel, Jo’Z, Noiro and Sunaas were already presented on CNT. Well, seems that now there’s time for a little encore.
This record starts with our premiere by Occibel (it was on the 2nd release of the label). His “Opale” is really perfect for that position. Bright, pacey, euphoric tune for the party in full swing. Bouncy percussion at the beginning, a few chords here and there on the build-up, filtered voices and the drop that gathers it all together. On the dancefloor you better listen to that “close your eyes” sample, when it tells you to.
The A-side continues with Vitess (1st release), which is also well-known for some euphoria in the tracks. Not this time, since in “AB Road” we have a huge, almost trancey tool for a house set in the middle of the night. Sunaas (5th release) quite contrary is finishing the A-side with a slow, breaksy jam with a kinda familiar melody on the background, that feels like coming from some hidden jam from 1993. That’s “Off World”.
Noiro (4th release) does some slow cooking at the beginning of the B-side opener “Bikini Bottom”. But this is the type of track when you need to wait a little. It will bloom in a minute after the start. The last one on the record is “Analyzing” by Jo’Z (3rd release). One more pacey piece, but, I must say, not as great as the first two on this record. It happens.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend you to miss this release. So you better go to Chat Noir Store, Juno, Deejay or wherever you’re buying your wax. Where else you could buy a ticket to an All-Star Game for around 10 euros, right?
