Jacobo Saavedra’s SVDR project is back with a bang in it’s second vinyl release.

The Ibiza based artist has sculpted a silky, minimalist sound common with much of the island’s dreamy aesthetic over recent years. Regularly showcasing with the likes of The Zoo Project, Zero Logistic and MTM, his devotion to this corner of club music is finally home to a project of his own.

His collaborative works with Jay Nortown as JNJS ignited the label back in May, revealing the fruitful results of their studio work. Inspired by the sleek and stripped back aesthetic, rhythms take a subtle tech-house stance, meandering through club-ready moods that manage to maintain a laid back vibe.

‘Black Cowboy’ opens the second release with a driving roller tinged with sleazy western themes. Classy guitar samples squirm between beats, nodding to the quirky vibe of the ranch lifestyle that is sure to bring smiles to the dance floor.

Production is mature and elegant throughout the release. Punchy drums play host to a spiralling bassline loaded with energy. It’s the kind of slick curveball you might hear the likes of Ricardo or Barac spicing up the mix with. Themes are complimented by whispery vocals and delicate synth work bringing a pleasant depth to the track.

Energies are relaxed, making for a versatile cut that could warm up the room just as comfortably as keep it rolling deep into the morning. You can picture the track doing the business at the likes of Sunwaves, just as much as a sunrise at the eclectic Burning Man festival.

Direkt brings a neat reshape on the A-side. The Romanian in fine form continues to deliver high-class minimal cuts, bringing a fresh perspective to the unique cowboy themes. Moods turn towards a psychedelic palate, twisted vocals in and out of a moreish sub-bass.

JNJS pick up the pace on the flip with their second original cut, boasting a confident bassline against spicy rhythms in ‘Walking In Blue’. Its rolling energy would lift the room of just about any set. Buoyant and zesty, this peak time cut is sure to become a staple in the sets of many selectors across the tech-house and minimal realms.

Miami based Chkltea concludes the record with a lush tooly rendition of ‘Walking In Blue’. Crafty, jazz-inspired drums bring a classy vibe to the track, whilst frothing party vibes fizzle underneath with an addictive charm to conclude this versatile release.
