Premiere: A1 – Alffie – Be Bop [EVV002]

Prolific Madrid based producer and Goya Social Club resident Alffie shapes the A1 for Eagervision’s second vinyl release.

The London imprint have formed an identity within the funk-drawn realms of minimalist club music via an extensive digital catalogue, charting 16 releases from various European producers in Octave and the previously premiered M.James, among others.

Alffie returns to the label with confidence in this VA after his digital solo EP back in 2018. Working gorgeous, sustained synth chords over a slick bassline in unison with a positive, uplifting woodwind sequence.

Sounds appear mature and well balanced, hosting clean hats cutting neatly through the mix and a thick, punchy kick. The Madrid producer showcases the versatile and effective nature of simple, stripped back club music, gifting a small number of clever ideas room to breathe and evolve in subtle, satisfying progressions.

This patient approach to ‘Be Bop’ combined with sleazy, groove-driven energy of the track makes for a versatile quality which could work just as well in a mood-setting warm up as it would at peak time.

Swung percussion lathers the high end with groove, slicing in and out of the mix with a noticeably crisp character that is bound to thrive on a club system.

Upcoming Leeds based producer Pük completes the A-side with a slick cut, weaving a nimble bassline between earthy textures, whilst Octave & Specter join forces on the B side, alongside a contribution from previous Eagervision artist duo Nedeea.

‘Eagervision 02’ is now available via deejay.de.
