LEON has moved forward at full throttle with his FUTURA imprint since launching back in May this year. The catalogue has grown at fast pace, releasing no less than a release every month since the first. Quality has not been compromised and you’ll have no doubt spotted some of the previous works on our pages.
Liou takes the lead on FUTURA’s final release of the year. The Greek artist has made quite the name for himself, particularly in his home country. You’ll often find him on soundtrack duties in the clubs of Athens, alongside his own AFFIX Recordings radio show together with co-owner DJ Gus. This dedication to the music flows through into his productions, of which three originals feature in his Out of Phase EP.
Priku feat Dinu take on the remix. Their own interpretation of ‘Ride It Out’ takes a ‘softly softly’ approach, dealt with care and caress. Warm dashes of melody echo in pattering synth notes, sweeping across a gentle groove, while percussion taps unobtrusively and the melodies gain momentum.
Long notes stretch atmospheric breaths over bars while keys creep in solitude. All the niceties come with a flow centred around a tasteful ambience, unassuming and polite in its mellow drive.
Priku feat Dinu have delivered a journey, exploring and celebrating Liou’s original parts whilst injecting their own tenderness. A pleasant way to see out the year with a brush of positivity, as we look forward to what the next year will bring from FUTURA.
