Having gone from techno main stage to underground raves Valentino Kanzyani is a quintessential artist. Never resigning himself to just one genre he is however revered in the minimal’s closest circles. So, when a new track from the Slovenian appears people tend to sit up and take notice. The latest piece of work to come from Kanzyani is an excellent edit of Depeche Mode’s inherently gloomy ‘World In My Eyes’ and it comes free of charge as part of our Free Track Download series.
The 1990’s track was the fourth and final single from their ‘Violator’ album and it is easy to see the undoubted influence that the band has on today’s minimal and breakbeat scene. Its release is even more poignant given that the band and music world bid a sad farewell to Depeche Mode founding member, keyboardist and sometime bass player Andy Fletcher who passed only last month. Faithfully representing the original, Valentino has tastefully updated this for the finest dance floors and we are certain that this will be cropping up in many top sets this festival season.
