For our first Free Download of 2025, it was only fitting that we deliver something rather special. As well as this being our 100th track in the series, we present an artist from an emerging country with plenty to say. Having recently presented the debut release from Bolivian artist Andy Somoza on his new label People Unpleaser, the landmark EP comes from a previously unrepresented territory and “Beat Misterio” proved to be an instant bass-fueled hit.
Picking up where his “Danza Veneno” EP left off, “Nadie Sabe (Mix Nostalgia)” leaves a heavy footprint thanks to the monstrous detuned bassline that is hard to miss. Choosing to strip back the grooves to the bare essentials, the smashing snare hits and noise toms offer just the right amount of disco-led funk while the simplified retro synths ensure that our next Free Download more than takes care of the dancefloor. Expect big things from Andy in 2025 as he continues to fly the flag for Bolivia with an eye on the world stage.
