Over the past six years, our New Year’s Resolution series has become something we look forward to every single year. It’s an opportunity for us at Trommel to reflect, to ensure we’re expanding our horizons to emerging musical talents within the scene and appreciating those who deserve appreciation.
Now onto our sixth edition, we put forward 12 growing artists (in alphabetic order) from our beloved scene who we recommend you keep a close eye on, whether they’re playing in your city, releasing a new record, or just checking out what they’re all about.
Adi
Some have known her since 2020 and the album on Basic Moves, but it seems, it was 2024 for cementing her place on the scene. She’s set to skyrocket in 2025, watch out for that b2b with Unai Trotti on Dimensions, you’ve been warned.
Admo
What a year was for ADMO. His Ordinateuf label finally released its second joint in 2024 after his own release a few years ago – and we’re expecting more in 2025 – with new aliases, projects, releases, sets, and lives simultaneously.
Alexander Skancke
Well, if you still didn’t stumble upon Alexander’s sound somehow… I can’t even imagine how, honestly. International Bangers Delivery during his sets or his releases on beloved Quirk is working like a luxury Swiss watch. And with a generous dose of fun and games.
Anna Wall
Anna Wall is a great example of how you can be busy in the studio and on the stage lately. She has been keeping a steady pace with the releases and playing an enormous number of gigs — her calendar is already planned until July — what about yours?
Bassam
Distrikt Paris and ANTAM Records honcho and one of the best Moroccans in Paris since Achraf Hakimi left PSG is always ready to surprise us with his sound. Don’t want to call it “Paris’ best kept secret”, but to be honest, I was surprised of amount of people who STILL missed his sets (everyone who didn’t miss said nothing but “wow!”). Maybe it’s finally time in 2025, eh?
E.Lina & Annyrock
With their background in hip-hop and close to perfect selection, these two Ukrainians can be a serious weapon on the dancefloors (together or separately). Just listened to one of them a few days ago and have literally zero complaints – and their bookings on Dimensions, Butik, or VBX lately can, probably only confirm my words.
Ika & Usherenko
Another duo – this time from Georgia, and again we can say something about serious damage on the dancefloors. Unbelievable energy and great selection – that’s what I know them for. Small Moves – not that small, right?
Jesse You
South Korea in da house – if you know something about Walls and Pals label – that’s his. A very productive year, keeping his region busy, while sharing the stage with… probably, everyone? We can see Larry Heard, Peggy Gou, Joe Delon, and Cristian Sarde, that’s quite a list. He also did the last InSession mix of 2024. If you missed it – why?
KT
We called her “one of the most in-demand UK selectors” in the description of her InSession mix for our series and that’s, probably, means something, right? Add to that mention her decade of experience finding some superrare gems – and that probably means even more, no?
Punky And The Brain (OTIS & Paul Lution)
You, probably, should already know OTIS from our premieres section (“Hello, Emma” phrase just randomly played in my head right now) and his colleague has one of the best bios ever, I’ll just quote it: “Paul Lution is a space pirate whose aim is to generate a solid link with the dancefloor and take you in a wide and dyed dimension, even introspective.” Cool, innit?

Tau Car
OK, if you want to define “busy”, you should probably take a look at Tau Car’s schedule for 2024. If you visited (I’m not saying “played”) fewer gigs than that – you’re not busy at all. And it seems that you have to intend her sets in person, because, probably, you won’t have a chance to listen to her work online outside some badly recorded clips – she’s very selective with her mixes (or, maybe, that’s also what “busy” means).
Xiaolin
Asian house-to-techno craftsmanship in the sets and the natural interest in, probably, every electronic (and not-so-electronic) genre in the world. You, probably, know her long ago from the appearances on Klasse Wrecks and 20/20 Vision. Let’s now plan to do a live appearance on a dancefloor during her set in 2025?
This article was written in Ukraine. Ukraine is in the middle of the war with Russia right now. Would be great if you could donate to the biggest Ukrainian volunteer fund here. Also, you can pick any music initiative, that is also trying to help from our list here. We’ll be stronger together.
