Miami this time of year is clearly the place to be. As well as the stunning selection of parties that American promoters Un_Mute and ReSolute have bestowed upon the Miami minimal scene they also have just announced something rather special. Going by their recent run of parties and upcoming Miami Music Week shows how could it get any more special?
Well…Un_Mute has joined up with Link Miami Rebels to replace the pin on the map where Miami used to be with a massive exclamation mark. There is no better way to do that than by inviting none other than Ricardo Villalobos and Maher Daniel to town. Maher who first dropped by Miami to play with Petre Inspirescu and the Un_Mute and ReSolute combined team a few weekends ago has been prepping for this huge weekend of music ever since.
Beginning on Friday, April 9th The Other Side label head and his Chilean sparring partner will be taking to the open-air climbs of Miami’s Space Park. A lush green fielded community vibe backed by the production and punch of the notorious Club Space. Giving the Miami faithful time to chill before it is time to go again and this time Club Space will be the focus of the pair’s attention. The expansive nightclub will be handed over to Maher and Ricardo on Sunday, April 11th, and with the history that this club shares and of course the synergy between these two artists who knows what will happen.
One thing that is almost a certainty (but you never can tell) is that you might hear the new EP from Ricardo and Maher on The Other Side. The third part of the duo’s ‘Changes’ EP is currently on pre-sale and the two-tracker features the combined efforts on the drone fuelled grooves of ‘Periodica’ and the solo effort of ‘Analogue Future’ from Maher. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled to these pages over the coming weeks for the first exclusive full listen to one of the tracks from the EP.
