What started out in 2017 as a podcast series, a very good one at that, soon grew into an unmissable platform for sharing the latest sounds from around the underground. Since that first initial podcast Sonder have welcomed to the fold many heroes from our scene that include Alexandra, Alex Neri, Philipp Boss, Jacopo Latini, Triform, Julian Perez, as well as carefully handpicked appearances from the next crop of rising stars.
With their podcast series fully established by 2022, it was time to present their musical vision by way of their record label with two very well received VA’s and a split EP from ADMNTi and Laidlaw. Word on the street is that Sonder London Records is going to be adding another edition to its full digital series with an EP from DJ Cream with an expectedly hot remix from Data Memory Access member Jacopo Latini.
Moving onto their event series and with humble beginnings laying with a good old gathering of friends spinning tunes soon evolved into much bigger events. Most notably hosting the debut London show of Cozy Boyz (DJ TJizza & Velasco), the Phone Traxx trio of Alec Falconer, Harry Wills and Rob Amboule who destroyed The Goose for their 5th birthday and their latest outing with DJ Pipe and DJ Senc at their adopted home of Starlane Pizza Bar. Having now been running for six years Sonder now look to their next event at Starlane where they will accomplish a long-time goal and that is to present an all-female lineup that is populated by three girls that are already making waves in all corners of the underground.
Heading up this hotly tipped soiree on Saturday, July 1st at Starlane is an artist that is well known to keen readers of these pages. Alongside her partner in crime Louison as Charly & Scotch and also in solo mode, Charlotte V has spread her wings and flown far and wide presenting an enviably deep record bag and even bigger musical knowledge. Curator of Parisian underground haven Nodd Club, Charlotte has recently taken in the finest clubs in Amsterdam, Berlin, United States, and will be joining another fire all girl line-up at Ibiza Underground next month.
Georgia is also a name to watch for as the UK artist is already a name on the lips of promoters and dancers alike. Having already made her room 1 debut at fabric, Georgia is already well acquainted with supporting artists such as Raresh, Traumer, Janeret, Tristan Da Cunha, and the list is most definitely going to grow and grow with each passing weekend.
Fellow French artist Wendy is also making a serious name for herself, part of the Rakya collective she has also made a huge impression on the world stage. Having just recently turned out for Oscuro at fabric and has a packed start to her summer schedule with dates at Nostromo, Nodd Club and of course Sonder London’s showcase at Starlane. With all artists being given the chance to shine there will also be b2b between Wendy and Charlotte that will certainly be referred to for months to come.
