Ruckus24 has become known for its raucous, round-the-clock parties around Leeds.
Headed up by resident Josh Demello, the party has taken over a range of interesting and often never before used spaces with DJs from across Europe invited to bring the heat. Just this year they have hosted Shonky and Arapu in a huge warehouse and welcomed Kepler, Reeshy and Casey Spillman under the city’s railway arches.
Inspired by a celebratory and mischievous vibe, the crew have grown into a reliable source for proper, let-your-hair-down kind of parties. After four years of events, their birthday shindig heads back underground for a 10-hour marathon.
Heading back under the arches, Saturday 7th October will see local legend Tristan Da Cunha, Julian Anthony and Garrett David grace the decks. Between the three of these veterans of house music, there’s more hours racked on a dance floor than most. Perfect for the raw, up-for-it vibe of the Leeds party, this complementary curation of selectors is frothing with peak-time bombs.
Tristan Da Cunha has been stunning dance floors for decades. With strong connections to much of Leeds’ history, whether it’s a long-time residency at the legendary Back To Basics, selling music down in Tribe Records or the beloved Garage venue, Tristan’s craft is one of years of dedication. His infectious charm behind the booth is the perfect match for his funky, raw house selections that continue to bring smiles to faces all across the globe.
Joining him is the rising Amsterdam based selector Julian Anthony. Known for his bouncey selections and productions via the BeeYou label, the refreshing artist is a neat complement to this Leeds line-up. We caught up with the Dutchman last year, hearing about his journey into music and the influence of the infamous SlapFunk collective.
US legend Garrett David completes the bill, bringing a fresh take on underground house music, Garrett is another artist with decades of experience under his belt. Ready to read the room, you can have confidence the Chicago man will deliver.
Josh Demello will also warm up the floor, as well as a back-to-back set from Holly Why and Eleanor.
