Ricardo Villalobos returns to Perlon for their first release of the year

News of a new Perlon release is always a big occasion in the world of minimal but when it is heralding the return of Ricardo Villalobos to the label then you can be sure the FB groups and message boards will be running white-hot for the remainder of the day. Having not featured on Perlon since the Superlongevity compilation back in 2017 it is great to see the Chilean’s return finally. Announced via wordandsound.de it has been confirmed that the 125th release from Perlon will be from Disordered Rhythm Metronomy aka Ricardo Villalobos and Edward and orders will be accepted from Friday, June 19th.

The 2 artists have been featuring heavily on line-ups together for some time and the 2-track offering will see a unique melding of styles. ‘Vormlock’ (A) features and notably twisted synth line as well as the trademark Villalobos modular musings. Meanwhile ‘Down’ (B) as the name suggests is a much deeper affair and although it is hard to tell the full extent of each of the tracks given that the snippets of the tracks are just over a minute in length it is clear that this release is a bolt from the blue in the current pandemic situation.
