As the days begin to heat up, we are ready and waiting for festival season to explode into life, and one such gathering that we are looking forward to is the weekend-long adventure Passage Festival. Curated and executed by Point76, the Swiss gathering will return for its fourth edition to the medieval canton of Fribourg. Please don’t mistake its sleepy appearance as this Swiss enclave harbours a mighty festival to rival that found in any number of major cities around the world.
Taking place between 24-25 May, Passage Festival aims to collect together only the finest emerging and established international and domestic talent and gives the perfect platform from which to impress. As you might have caught wind of this event via these pages last year, Point76 return for 2025 with a renewed vision that doesn’t dwell on fads or trends, only unwaveringly good house and techno music set against two immersive sites. The main part of the festival will take place within the industrious Bluefactory site, and while the backdrop may be stark, the vibe is always warm and welcoming.
Sandwiched between two open-air sessions, there will be a chance to decamp to the expansive Fri-Son, where the twilight hours will be spent under the lasers of this behemoth live venue. Take it from us, there will be a show-stopping array of talent front and present at both festival areas, and for those with the stamina, will be able to embrace all that Passage Festival has to offer. As well as the carefully programmed musical direction, there will be no dull moments to be found across the 36-hour run time. Ensuring this is the case will be a headline team of artists that includes Ben Balance, Christian AB, Lamache, Laurine, and an especially tantalising live set from Trent Voyage & Elena Moroder.
Priding themselves on offering not just a feast for the ears, there has been no stone left unturned when curating a full sensory experience. As well as catering for your every need when it comes ot music, there will be a chance to break out from the action at one of the two creative spaces on site at the Bluefactory. On offer will be a delectable choice of markets, a chance to immortalise your weekend in the form of a tattoo or even a piercing, and even a brunch on Sunday morning to get back in the game.. This year’s edition is shaping up to be the best yet, and as you can see, the fourth edition will see Passage Festival continue to go from strength to strength.
