Andy Luff’s Picnic Records is celebrating 12 years on Saturday, March 16th.
The legendary London party joins forces with another institution and their frequent home, fabric. Both collectives have been central to the UK capital’s underground for many years and you can expect a reasonably massive line-up for the 12th birthday. Last year’s celebration featured Hamish & Toby, Sweely and Ethel to name a few.
Their collaborations over the years have welcomed many special line-ups to fabric, regularly inviting the likes of Slow Life, Sweely and Apollonia, as well as pushing local talent such as Phone Traxx and KT.
Picnic also hosts regular features at Beriln’s Hoppetosse and CDV, showcasing their diverse tastes with bookings like Onur Ozer and Margaret Dyas playing alongside the UK crew. The record label of the same name is also home to a series of dance floor weapons from the likes of B.Love, Martinez and Michelle.
Given their milestone of 12 years, the birthday line-up already features 10 artists with more to be announced in the coming weeks. Joining founder and resident Andy Luff is fellow UK tastemakers Dr Banana and Tristan Da Cunha, Truly Madly and Lucas Wiglex. The NorthSouth Records crew, Mother Earth and Joa (Jos b2b Loa) also represent the London crew.
Flying in from Berlin is the veteran Evan Baggs and My Own Jupiter mainstay Omar to complete the first wave of artists for this mammoth curation. Split across fabric’s multiple rooms, you can be sure to expect extended sets and interesting B2B happenings across the birthday weekend.
Multiple special guests are still to be announced. £10 early birds are now on sale, purchase tickets for 12 years of Picnic Records direct from fabric here.
