Estonia’s I Land Sound combines a top musical program with art, wellness, and nature

Taking place between 17 – 20 July in the natural beauty of Illiku, Saaremaa, I Land Sound is much more than a music festival. Sure, they have an expertly curated sonic offering, but over the course of the previous 7 editions, the organisers have helped to grow this event into something that transcends the 4/4 beat.

Our aim is to welcome visitors with an unforgettable blend of quality music, art, and cultural experiences, all while strengthening our ties to both local and international scenes,” says Paap Uspenski, one of the festival’s main organisers. “By involving more international partners than ever, we’re introducing new influences and offering an even richer experience for everyone who joins us.”

Having been built upon the foundation of a well-rounded and underground-focused music policy, I Land Sound’s 2025 edition has again collected together some of the brightest talents in our scene. Helping to headline this year’s event will be hitters Alexis Cabrera, Shonky, D’Julz, Danny Howells, Otis, Raz, Robin Ordell, Roi Perez, Sepp, Traumer and a massive roster of regional and international artists.

Each of the festival stages will have a distinct flavour, and we also have the opportunity to present our own vision at the festival. First of all, we will be taking over the Dome stage on the first night (Thursday), and we will be joined by local artists Nechaev and iunsu, who will support Roi Perez, Sally C, and Simone De Kunovich. The following night will be joining up with French agency Pieces for a Terrace takeover that will potentially be the highlight of the festival. Taking charge of the decks for the night will be Robin Ordell, OTIS (live), D’Julz, and Shonky will close the stage with his infectious grooves and irresistible basslines.

This is just a small part of the musical menu that will be on offer across the full festival, and with a huge array of stages to explore, there is plenty of new music and artists to discover. One of the other core elements of I Land Sound is its extensive wellness and arts program. Running each and every day, there will be a packed itinerary that includes arts and crafts workshops, culinary experiences, healthy activities, and there is even a barber and a sauna on site for those much-needed self-care moments.

Lastly, but certainly not leastly, we have the star of the show and top headliner – the island of Illiku. Situated off the coast of Estonia’s Saaremaa area, the stunning biodiverse eco island is protected by the festival’s zero plastic bag and plasticware approach. Supporting the goal of the Saaremaa Rural Municipality Development Plan 2019-2030, they look to maintain the pristine natural vistas that make this island so enchanting. This eco-friendly approach to festival life is extended throughout I Land Sound, and the animals that inhabit the forests, fields, waterways and skies above the island will all benefit from this too. We have only scratched the surface enough to let you peer into this fascinating festival, full details of this jam packed festival is available on I Land Sound’s excellent website.
