East London mega-brand FUSE has, since exploding onto the scene over a decade ago covered an enormous amount of ground both musically and geographically. What has been equally impressive is the fact that each of the artists responsible for the brands’ success have all forged successful careers of their own. Rich NxT, Rossko, Seb Zito, Archie Hamilton and of course boss man Enzo Siragusa are a true testament to this fact, and the team are poised to take steps in new directions with their freshly formed brand LOCUS.
The new vision will be exploring all shades of house music and looks to explore new territory that features the work of some rising stars as well as more established artists that you might recognise from previous Fuse affiliated releases and events. In Enzo Siragusa’s own words he explains a little about the new project, “I’m excited to launch our new label LOCUS – which will focus on a more upfront house sound coming from our growing global community. We’re going to be working with some new artists as well as some familiar faces, whilst exploring a new musical direction”.
To kick off LOCUS rising Italian star KOKO offers up the feel-good ‘Love Me ASAP’ EP and it is brimming with ‘90s house jams such as ‘Chantal’ on A1, more peak time business on A2 ‘Your Ass, My Camel Blue’, shuffling sax-laden grooves via B1 ‘Love In Plexiglass’ and closing out with the hypnotic shimmer of B2 ‘Amor Ante Hominem Nascitur’. With flecks of the FUSE sound creeping into this EP there is clearly a new agenda tabled with LOCUS and we are sure there will be summer anthems galore in the works judging by the first release.
