Checkpoint have long been a trusted party provided in Barcelona. Their unique showcases combine visual art with curious musical line-ups in the most unique locations. Often taking place in the craziest villas, warehouses and DIY spaces, their reputation has led to a global scale regularly hosting showcases in places as far as Australia and South America.
We just covered the collective’s 10 year anniversary plans where they will be heading through Europe, North and South America, Africa, Australia and Asia. Over the years, the crew have worked with over 270 artists bringing their unique flair to a bottomless number of parties and after-parties. It’s the kind of party you can trust to provide good sound systems and friendly people where connections can be made to push the music movement forward.
To celebrate the end of 2022, Checkpoint head to the renowned Les Enfants venue in Barcelona. On new year’s eve, they will welcome the Italian selector Brasi, DMX Krew’s mesmeric live set and the rising Uruguay artist Oriana. Javier Carballo, Malena, Monile and Alex also feature on the bill, providing the soundtrack to an extended celebration.
You can be sure to expect Checkpoint’s signature touch in the venue, inviting local artists to bring a visual flair, crafting delicate lighting and intriguing textures for you to get lost in. Brasi’s unique and emotional selections are the perfect compliment to DMX Krew’s revered live set. The Italian artist has carved his knowledge of electronic music through working at the influential Ultrasuoni Records, as well as curating his own label Incoherent Debts.
DMX Krew’s live set is always full of surprises, smashing together electro, house and everything in-between, both these artists devoted to their craft and carry a well deserved reputation.
Proceedings will kick off at 22:00 and run until 7:30am in the club, before heading for another one of their memorable after-parties in a local villa. Located just outside the city, the afters takes place in a stunning modernist house with a number of different floors and rooms, a backyard terrace and several hidden spots inside the house that will keep you ticking right through until 3pm.
Oriana will play a second set at the New Year’s Day afters alongside fellow Uruguayan selector Emilio and Kinetic. The backyard room will also host local selectors Bruno & Marco, Conor & Max Ta and Sebastian.
