After the resounding success of last year’s event which saw sets from the likes of Raresh, Priku and Janeret, Butik Festival in Slovenia returns for another edition between Thursday, July 16th and Sunday, July 19th. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Soca Valley near Tolmin the 3-day festival again draws on a range of genres but with a heavy influence from the minimal world. What Butik Festival benefits where others simply hint at is the natural beauty of its surroundings. The small but perfectly formed festival site is spread out amongst the forests, glades and riversides of this natural park.
The festival will begin on Thursday, July 16th with a day zero pre-party, the finer details of this warmup party are a closely guarded secret but we couldn’t think of a better way to start the festivities. Moving on to the rest of the festival and there is already a great selection of names out of the hat including Sonja Moonear, Cinthie, S.A.M., Arapu, Sweely (Live), Youandewan as well as a host of disco and techno luminaries and local support artists also looking to make their name during the festival. We can also exclusively confirm that Russian artist Andrey Pushkarev will be performing a 6-hour set, given that Andrey is fully accustomed to playing all night long sets he will be in tip-top condition for this sure-fire highlight of the weekend.
Making a return for the second year after impressing so much during the debut event last year is Klockworks artist Etapp Kyle, his unflinching techno style is perfectly suited to the unwavering surroundings of the Soca Valley. Also, joining on the techno tip will be Terrence Fixmer, Jensen Interceptor and in stark contrast to those that have gone before him Gerd Janson is set to deliver a disco masterclass.
Again, there would be no grassroots festival without a unique, varied and talented supporting cast and names included are Josh Rawl, Massaï, Runy as well as a whole host of local artists looking for their breakout opportunity. Intimate doesn’t need to be small and Butik Festival effortlessly joins the dots between boutique festivals and large scale gatherings with headlining artists, top production values and the know-how of what makes a great party.
