The intimate Butik Festival set among the white sands of Slovenia is heading to Zanzibar for a seven-day gathering on the beautiful Tanzanian island.
Having built a reputation for its low-key atmosphere and breathtaking natural setting, Butik has become an annual pilgrimage for many within the deep-digging circuits. Set beside the turquoise rivers of Soča Valley, the summer edition welcomes artists like Sugar Free, Ryan Elliott and Christian AB, alongside core figures of Slovenia’s blossoming underground such as Mayell and Sybil, and those orbiting the LuckIsOn label and parties.
Each winter, the Butik community gathers again on Zanzibar’s east coast for an even more intimate experience. With a capacity of just 350 people, the week offers space to connect deeply, dance barefoot and share in moments that feel personal and unrepeatable.
Running from February 2nd–9th, the fourth edition blends daytime beach sessions, late-night club gatherings and unique off-site adventures like the Secret Island and Sandbank expeditions. These journeys, accessible only by boat capture the magic of Butik’s spirit: freedom, exploration and community woven into one.

This project is a collaboration between Butik, Lighthouse and Why?Not, all with their proven record of bookings across the globe. This year, the net has been cast even further with proven lynchpins of our scene that include Sonja Moonear, tINI, Bella Sarris will be making the trip to paradise. These certified heroes will also be joined by dvidevat, Katia Curie, SunnySun, maša, Nizar Sarakbi, Ranerro, Fafi Abdel Nour, DJ Sweet6teen, Morgan, and Zeina. To complete the heady mix of sounds and artists there will also be sets from debutants Busso, Dave, Evin, Robin RB, Sofiane Vial, and Zouzibabe.
The opening night unfolds at Why?Not Club, a seaside spot where waves lap against the windows and sunlight spills across wooden floors at sunrise. Later in the week, the Tiki Beach session brings a vibrant outdoor party beneath the palms, while the Masai Mara Villa closing offers a more relaxed finale, with poolside lounging and easy smiles carrying into the last dance.
Rest days are littered throughout the week to allow time to rest and explore the island. In typical Butik fashion, there’s no rush, just a shared rhythm that ebbs and flows with the island itself. With its small scale, warm-hearted community and breathtaking setting, Butik Zanzibar continues to prove that less can mean infinitely more.
