Art of Dark head to London’s Studio 9294 for a 13-hour Halloween marathon

Art of Dark have long been a go-to club night in the capital. Pinned by a roster of solid residents and frequent faces in the likes of Colin Chiddle and Sohrab, as well as having strong ties to many of the scene’s tastemakers in Nicolas Lutz, Onur Ozer, Binh, etc, their extended showcases have developed a reliable charm.

Stepping away from their spiritual home of FOLD, the crew heads to Studio 9294 on Sunday 30th October for an extended Halloween session. True to their varying tastes within artists from the house, techno and minimal spheres, the booking policy relies on consistent artists devoted to their craft. Trusted to deliver time and time again, many artists have a strong bond with the promoters who have played several times for the crew over the years.

Stepping up to represent the more stripped back flavours, long time back to back partners and minimal wizards in their own right Praslea and Raresh are in town. Their longtime Praslesh partnership has a global reputation for their incredibly effortless sync, sifting through elegant house and minimal realms each coated with unique character and charm. You can be sure to walk away from an extended set of these two masters filled with inspiration of what is possible in a back to back set.

Joining the headline booking is another memorable back to back partnership in Slow Life’s Laurine and Cecilio. They’re no stranger to the capital, often bringing their sun-kissed flavours to the confines of FOLD, or serving up a canal boat after party somewhere in East London.

The level of record digging between these two impeccable selectors never fails to stun dance floors. Snapping into a similarly admirable sync, the pair drift through deeper shades of house, techno and electro each caressed with the subtle, emotive flavours pushed by the Slow Life collective. Witnessing both Slow Life and Praslesh letting loose in extended sets is sure to leave buckets of inspiration within the Art of Dark walls.

Joining the bill alongside resident Colin Chiddle are three esteemed up and coming selectors. Firstly, Superluminal boss Matthias is invited to showcase his mesmerising turntablism. Shifting through the gems of his record bag alongside many edits and dubplates, the innovative artist is rapidly becoming one to watch.

Moods meander through the likes of EBM and 80s shades, whilst maintaining a bouncey vibe that keeps the floor ticking. His sets at the likes of Nostromo and inside Berlin’s Hoppetosse have stuck in the minds of many fans within the vinyl sphere for months on end.

Rising producer and long time Undersound DJ Sohrab also features on the bill. His ethereal productions have landed on the likes of EYA Records, Undersound and Bruno Schmidt’s Domesticated imprint, illustrating a seasoned producer with a clear vision.

Kyle Toole also features on the bill. The upcoming digger has been seen dazzling dancefloors across Berlin’s CDV for the Mudd Show, as well as dotting around London’s hazey after-hour scene. His tasteful selections span dreamy house and downtempo realms, casting blissful soundscapes into his extended sets. Definitely one to watch.

13 hours of music will be spread across two rooms in the East London venue where artists are invited to express themselves with generous, extended set times backed by excellent sound systems.

If you’re looking for a solid, up-for-it Halloween party powered by some of the scene’s most devoted artists, Art of Dark have got you covered.
