On Saturday, 24th May, Amalfi Music brings its distinctive sonic touch to the intimate surroundings of Star Lane Pizza Bar. Known for its impeccable sound system and close-knit dance floor, Star Lane has carved out a reputation as one of East London’s most beloved spots for underground music.
Joining the London crew for the occasion is the scouse-house master DMC. Having been amongst the bustling community of producers and promoters in Liverpool, DMC has gained a strong reputation nationwide, playing and releasing records for Art of Dark, as well as showcasing his nifty turntablism skills, as well as being a solid drummer.
Limosine Dream signee Joolmad joins him, as well as Amalfi resident Bill. Just three artists occupy the booth til 3am, allowing for extended sets to bring the best from each selector.
Amalfi Music, the brainchild of DJ and producer TTAM alongside Bill and Alfie George is more than just a record label or an events brand—it’s an ethos. Rooted in the deep, tech house sound of the capital, their nights are meticulously curated to take dancers on a journey moving effortlessly through warm tech-house flavours.
Their recent showcase up in Manchester welcomed Jhobei fresh off his releases for Chris Stussy’s Up The Stuss and London’s legendary FUSE label. The inspiration from the likes of Gene on Earth, The Ghost and contemporary tech-house selectors runs deep in this crew, each brining their own take to the modern sound.
Star Lane’s sound system brings the best out of DJs. Strong and punchy, the sound is as good in the booth as on the floor. The venue’s intimate size is suited to stripped back sounds with every subtle hi-hat cutting through with precision.
After just been granted an extremely sought after 24-hour license, the London venue has a bright future and Amalfi are at the heart of this. With an ever-expanding roster of talent and a philosophy rooted in quality over hype, the collective continues to carve its own niche in London’s clubbing landscape.
