Moroccan artist Driss Bennis aka OCB has been a pivotal figure in the North African province and his influence along with key players has helped to elevate his country to lofty heights. The Casa Voyager founder has given a new meaning to the term Detroit electro and with it has given a new voice to the region. With releases on the perhaps the biggest Detroit label in Metroplex as well as Craigie Knowes, WARNING, each new release from Driss Beniss is an update in future music.
Possessing such a visionary approach to music, OCB’s grasp on the future past bleeds effortlessly into his music and this is why his mix for our podcast series is unmissable. From the wonky, synth centric intro, through to the downtempo 808 laden segue through jazz, most bases are covered perfectly. Switching through gears like a well oiled machine, Driss explores the deeper end of house before dialling up the pressure to peak dancefloor mode.
