Premiere: B2 – BOOH – Radium Dance [OTD005]

BOOH and Nizar Sarakbi go back-to-back, track for track on Outdom’s 5th release.

The Parisian vinyl outfit has made itself known for tasteful curations of electro with nods to the past as they share their retro-super-future. Dark, energetic and funked-out beats are no exception in their next offering as we hear Sci-fi scenes, edgy melodies and more oddities this time round.

Spanning spacey electro, techno and housier vibes, this 4-tracker sees playful contrast as French producer BOOH and Ukranian/Syrian artist Nizar Sarakbi eclipse over their “Split” EP.

We premiere B2 – BOOH – Radium Dance [OTD005] which packs heavy artillery as militant vocal chops drive an army of space age synths through uncharted territory, fuelled by an engine of drum machines firing away beneath. A hypnotic combination of elements that pulses and punches just right, with grooves just oozing out all over, can see this one in full command of the dancefloor.

BOOH boots off the A-side with “HAL9000”, a hi-wire, funk-rocker, futuristic house odyssey from a time where technology has taken over. Nizar brings us back into orbit as he welcomes old-school favours and groove aplenty in “Black Forest Dub”. Signs of HAL return on the flipside as B1. “Do It (5am mix)” reimagines aspects of house and dub techno through electro-tinged lenses. Raw and groovy start to the B-side as the way is paved for “Radium Dance” which rounds off the EP with a bang of nuclear proportions – the kind that should come with a hazard label!

A versatile and polished EP boasting definite dancefloor bangers that keep it tasteful as they bring with them a plethora of turns, tricks and surreal stimuli. Raw and hypnotic tracks that find themselves primed for peak time and afterhours sets as they bring the heat balanced with a nice dose of darkness.

Outdom Records was founded in 2023 by fellow Frenchman Latent and Retrolog, providing a medium for their explorations into the past with a retrospective glance, as they revisit themes and motifs from hip-hop, 90-00’s techno, electro and more. With 5 releases in just over a year and a sold-out first drop, prolific is the word for the crew over at Outdom, we look forward to hearing more to come.
