Nice Timing for another record release? It appears so. With the backing of Subwax Distribution, the quirky San Francisco label returns with release number two. Serving as the platform for label owner Zacky, Nice Timing offers a tongue in cheek outlook on the perception of time itself.
While we consider whether it was actually a burning vinyl crash landing into the extinction of dinosaurs (as depicted by the record artwork), Zacky himself travels through time and space. In the meantime, it’s up to the audience to think a little more seriously about their own method of time travel. Consideration of decisions in the present moment and how the future might be affected by said decisions.
But enough of the sentimental stuff. As the story of the label continues to unfold, it brings music along with it. The latest release features four original tracks from Zacky himself and we’ve got the title track on the premiere.
‘All The Time’ is an energy-driven track focused around a pumping bassline. Brimming with melodies, from trickling synth lines that ooze pleasing atmosphere to playful keys that dance above. Two vocal samples complement one another, excitable and dedicated to the beat. Groove is fun, the rhythm is fast and it is just full of niceties.
Likely to get a party royally started, no time is wasted in the record’s opener. As the wax grooves continue, so do the textures. Elements might spin a little deeper, but the focus remains around consistent energy.
