From the mind of Orsolini comes a new alias and label – Raw Senses. For the first foray for the label he has collected together four peak time techno weapons primed for the floor.
Starting our deep dive into the debut release from the Raw Senses alias is “Impulsus Energigae” and just like the rest of the EP it pulls no punches. Designed for the tougher floors, this peaktime bomb propels itself by way of a crunchy distorted percussion loop and a bounding bassline. With more than a passing influence from the heyday of Detroit techno, the filtered stabs keep the energy peaking throughout.
Maintaining the atmosphere built up from track 1, “Oxy Trans” keeps the groove stripped throughout instead moving to focus instead on the epic filtering synth that wiggles its way throughout. Working in tandem with a deft synth stab that keeps things simple but to great effect.
Next up is “Via Gelida” and detuned synths are played off against a rounded bassline to offer an uneasy sense of sound, but as soon as it builds up it soon gives way to a a revolving pad. Completing the package is “Paradisus Glacialis” and the rousing pads shimmer while the repeating bassline dances in between the notes. A fitting closing to a debut release bristling with dancefloor weapons.
