Tafelberg Records presents the debut solo EP of Guessbeats, none other than the mastermind behind the Dutch label. With his meticulously crafted productions, he has experienced a remarkable surge in success, and this vinyl release serves as a promising indication of the bright future that lies ahead. “Snow Peak” is an electrifying display of animated house music at its finest, further enhanced by a dynamite remix courtesy of Phil Evans, the visionary behind Freizeit.
The day’s main course is the first track on the release, A1 – “Snow Peak”. The energetic vibe is set right from the first few seconds as the piece starts with decisive drums and vibrant beats, accompanied by spooky synths. The storyline flows smoothly with an irresistible elasticated groove, complemented by splashes of acid that spiral throughout. Dark, playful female vocals enhance the track, while the drums maintain their momentum, keeping the energy flowing.
Moving on to the second track on the release, A2 – “Mountain Climbers”, this piece offers sleek sounds perfect for the hazy hours of the night, casting its magic during vital moments. Mysterious beeps and bleeps wander around the driving force of the track, making it an ideal selection for a blissful gathering.
The aptly named “For Sport (Phil Evans 2000 Deep Remix)” kicks off the B side with gorgeous deep house vibes, fully ripened and ready for the summer months ahead. Shimmering pads create a bubbling atmosphere, allowing the clean-cut funk of the track to progress naturally. The original ‘For Sport’ is built upon dusty broken drums and a side-winding bass line, maintaining its emotional essence while paying homage to the nostalgic garage sound.
TBR002 is now available via Juno, Deejay.de, Decks.de, and Oye Records.
