After hearing the last Fast Lane release, we couldn’t wait to hear what was next from the Puerto Rican label. Next up to the plate is Bueno Aires artist Rekun and having already impressed with a slew of releases from WAPM Records, Unk Planet Rec. his own Calme Music imprint. For the fifth release on Fast Lane a trio of tracks await and as well as Rekun’s original ‘Microsouls’ there is also a duo of remixes from Jeff Moreno and Tito Mazzetta.
Taking first aim at ‘Microsouls’ is Tito Mazzetta and the seasoned Atlanta artist takes the spacey vibes from the original and blasts it into outer space. Where Rekun’s original cut is more about the groove, Mazzetta on the other hand expands the synths and rounded basslines to the outer reaches of the solar system. Snappy snares, thudding kick drums and the accompanying arpeggiated synths would not be out of place in a Francesco Del Garda set.
For the second remix Jeff Moreno takes control of the dials and runs with the deeper aspects of Rekun’s original and strips it back to the paddy synths and adds in techy drum arrangements and more abstract sound FX to form the more tougher moments of the release.
