Subterrain Records returns for their eighth outing and they have enlisted the talents of London born, Netherlands based Omas. Delivering four original works across his debut EP for the label, he packages electro beats and vocoded vocals in a neat, punchy gift for your ears.
Today we focus on track 3 on the lineup “Interface Undone” and the forlorn synth keys paint a bleak, but almost romantic view of outer space. Crunchy snares punctuate this vision of the expanse of the cosmos while the robotic voices that gate and glitch add to this. Completing the EP is “Insensitive Incentive” and from the out the final track on the EP means business. Heavy hitting snares crack with a satisfying snap while stretched out pads temper the huge bassline that undulates under the pressure of the sub bass tones. The mystic musical elements that come into play along with the 303 really elevates this to a higher plane.
Taking things back to the top of the release and “Emotional Response” offers the perfect intro to the action via the robotic voiced announcer. Like a journey into the cold, outer reaches of the universe we first encounter metallic synths and outrageous bass tones that we are sure would even disrupt the flight path of 31/ATLAS. Progressing this theme further as if encountering the before mentioned interstellar anomaly, Omas switches things up nicely with syncopated drum fills.
