Having celebrated 10 years in the game at the tail end of 2020, Tzinah Records is showing no signs of slowing down with their consistent release schedule. Next to join the ever-growing Tzinah Records family is Chilean artist Javier Labarca and he delivers the sprawling long player ‘Serendipia’.
Having garnered impressive support from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Archie Hamilton, Varhat, Primarie, and Mihai Pol we have chosen ‘The Sunshine’ as our pick of the album.
One of the picks of the long-player is the bumping groover ‘The Sunshine’ and there is simply no better place to be listening to this track. The perky pace of the track, snipped drums that give a real sense of urgency and a light airy feeling from the pitched up repeated bleeps lighten the mood from the beginning. The actual drum programming of the track is fairly straightforward but the groove that it produces is undeniable.
Elsewhere on Labarca’s ‘Serendipia’ LP a collection of deep house, bass-heavy, feel-good works converge to represent the honed skills of the Chilean nicely. The release on the Romanian imprint numbers 12 in total and all are as cohesive and finely produced as the last. It is hard to distinguish other front runners but highlights include the deep rolling vibes of ‘Liberal’, the forlorn atmosphere of ‘Decisiones’, and the acid-tinged touches of ‘Menguante’.
The full LP is now available via the Tzinah Records Bandcamp page.
