Established last November, London label Subterrain Records releases their fourth vinyl record featuring rising UK artist Morkz, and a remix by Nic David. Equipped with great potential and a strong passion for music, the young team consisting of Kai Berry, Aaron Burr, and Max Fisher have outlined a promising future ahead of them. They have managed to advocate for diversity and variety by having producers from different countries and varied cultural backgrounds with each EP they had curated thus far. From Spain to Costa Rica or the UK, each release had its own allure and vibrant energy.
A refined and charming minimal, our chosen track “Do You Love Me” on side 2 can get anyone moving to the beat within seconds. A mystifying bass line accompanied by seductive female vocals marks its beginning, soon followed by a peak moment of pure energetic bliss that brings nothing but joy to the dance floor.
On the darker side of this record, we have “Move Your Body” on 1, with a heavy and decisive bassline, machine-like vocals, spacey pads, and vibes that take you on a journey to outer worlds.
Moving over to 3, “Lollipop” soothes the spirits with its slower pace and groovy breaks. A female voice subtly urges us to dance throughout the track, and we are totally going to listen to it.
Last but not least, Nic David’s remix of “Move Your Body” on 4 merges things a little with the use of a similar, if not the same female voice from “Lollipop” whispering “Dance” along his groovy and vibrant personal touch.
“Move Your Body” EP will be released on the 13th of June and can be pre-ordered on Bandcamp.
