Offering many different flavours across different labels under his control, label Casimir von Oettingen returns to his Paulum Records base. Serving up blissful progressive slant, this nod to the 90s adds a spicy smoothie to the menu.
Where better to start your weekend than the very first EP track than a warm welcome from Casimir’s EP opener “Age Of Wonder”. Esoteric atmospherics converge on crispy percussion and deep bass tones to gluten together the euphoric 90s garage vibe that is seldom faithfully reproduced with such a techy flip.
If you enjoyed the more chilled sections of the original version then you will rush to the ambient flip. The original breakdown has been lovingly drawn out in order to cast your mind to another dimension with an easing embrace.
Firming up the grooves in the latter part of the release falls to “I Don’t Understand”. Not relinquishing the charged feels of the previous works one bit, it’s as if those scenes are replayed but with an acid tinged update. With an instantly infectious groove to contend with, there is no doubt that learned heads wont feel a nostalgic tinge or two here.
