Increase The Groove Records are ready with their third installment of their own “From Da Split” series and we’re ready too – we already got our hands on one track from it to bring to you. In case you haven’t heard about the series – one record, couple of producers, six tracks – you decide the winner (kidding). The previous two were divided between Oden & Fatzo and Kizoku (the first one) and by Marius and YENCLI3000 (the recent one). This one will be put between Noiro & Alyhas and – our tonight’s guest with the juiciest track of this release – JL.
I’m not kidding – “Game” even with its mystery setup kinda tells us that something big is going to happen here. We only have a minute to prepare and then you’ll hear one of this year’s biggest basses drop. This track should be sold with the warning about possible damage to your speakers if you’re going to listen to it on high volume. If your speakers survive 6 minutes of constant banging – congratulations, you have a very nice sound system at home or club.
Since we were promised a journey between the BPM, other tracks on the record are very different in speed and mood. “Electronique” is a slow piece of breakbeat, almost a boom-bap, “Ready” is a bit faster but still a very calm example of one more spacey tune. That was the JL.’s side.
Noiro & Alyhas on the flip produced a very diverse range of tracks too – from the opener, almost an intro to “Cathod”, through a very banging one, called “Body Flap”, we have something in the middle on “Bamba Détox”.
To be brief – I like the side of JL. much more. To be honest – not even the whole side, just one track – B3. And this is one of those examples where one track is better than everything else on the record. The undisputed favorite of mine here.
