Premiere: B2 – Asymmetrical – Bullshit [RWCLTR017]

Raw Culture celebrates five years in the business with a gritty, beat-packed album from founder Asymmetrical.

Since its inception, the Roma record label has driven forward full steam, paving the way for Italian artists alike. Past editions explore a darker, frenzied side of the underground, an eclectic and experimental selection of the uncut and the crude.

Epitomising the sound of his brainchild, Asymmetrical continues in a similar fashion forming his Blind Faith LP. The twisted avenues of Ben Elton’s disturbed comic novel of the same name offer the inspiration for this one. Making a statement against a post-capitalist society whilst making filthy beats in the process.

‘Bullshit’ is deeply warped as might be expected. A patient, irregular bassline sets the rhythm with a furious but firm clap. Harsh and high pitched, a deviant melody sounds the alarm before the chugging bassline kicks in. The buzzed march becomes even more regimented as the vocal is announced, as is in the title, over and over.

Eery, mechanical sirens rotate and intensity reaches its maximum, as all the elements combine. Picture a darker emotive, inviting a not-so-subtle disturbance. If you’re into that kind of thing.

Blind Faith LP blends the deep with the raucous, mixing raw rhythms, sadistic vocals, and distant samples. Splashes of EBM, techno, electro, and New Wave feature in this eight-track edition.

Pre-order the limited edition vinyl now at Bandcamp.
