Now on to their fifth instalment of their dancefloor only bomb series, Picnic Records are slowly but surely making their way around the world taking their hot label with them. Keeping the label output tight with their close knit family providing the tracks they look inwards yet again to their talented crew and a VA has been formed to showcase what they are capable of.
We head straight for B1 where the Mood Waves duo of Shaque and Tjizza waste absolutely no time at all in setting up a rock solid melodic groove. Stripped to its fundamentals and relying on nothing but sheer energy and crystal clear mixing ‘Falling C’ is a pure house banger that you will hear this summer. Unabashedly euphoric this track speaks to a much simpler time.
Flipping back over and Data Memory Access are on typically sizzling form with their A1 banger ‘Time’. Soaring synths, future retro basslines and cutting percussion all combine to bolster this EP in an impressive way. Again, designed purely for those early morning heaving dancefloor moments Giammarco Orsini and Jacopo Latini are hitting a rather sweet spot in their output right now. Completing the EP is DJ Tjizza in solo mode and the Mood Waves main man has crafted a mysteriously cosmic track in ‘Brinta’. Rising and falling synths work in tandem with the nicely distorted bassline in keeping with the future retro aesthetic of the release. Stripped back and groove centric, Picnic knock it out the park yet again.
