Vinyl Speed Adjust launched VSA Records back in 2015, a vinyl only platform not only for their own releases but for carefully selected artists who have also been brought into the fold. The Romanian duo are not shy of production, armed with a formula that has seen them make a whole back catalogue of bangers (check out our premiere of VSA003 here). This experience is reflected in their label productions and the fifth release comes from Argentinian rising talent Paulem and his Niche EP. We have premiered Bitarwan.
A continuous rhythm comes from the rolling groove in this one, churning bar from bar in true Rominimal fashion. This pulsating heartbeat acts as an organic stem, a flowing energy that never falters throughout the track. Intricate layers gradually grow, expanding into something that very much feels like a lifeform. Hooked up to the right soundsystem, this sensory connection is sure to captivate crowds on the dancefloor, defining an impeccable urge to have hips moving at all times.
It’s deep, dark and at times down right dirty. Claps reverb, robotics whir and bleeps drift in to attention. A whole host of electronic chatter litters the forefront, a minimal concoction of juicy noises meant for tantalising the ears.
Those who like the Romanian flavours will have all the boxes ticked with this one and if it hasn’t already been played at Sunwaves it’s likely to sneak in somewhere at the next round in April. It wouldn’t be the first time Paulem has featured at the festival, courtesy of Sepp back at SW26.
Available to purchase on vinyl soon.
