Romanian producer and DJ Dragomir has crafted yet another timeless production, Dark Synergy EP, on Maher Daniel’s label and soul project The Other Side. The two-tracker is accompanied by a remix from Berlin-based wizard Volkan Akin, adding his bouncy twist to the record’s second track.
Hailing from Bucharest, the young artist has spent the last decade shaping his own lane through sonic exploration, gradually developing a distinctive sound and establishing himself within the scene. With his signature dark-minimal sound, he crafted an impressive catalogue of dancefloor bangers that earned him well-deserved recognition, with his tracks finding their way into sets at international venues and festivals on the likes of Raresh, Prâslea, Rhadoo, Maher Daniel and many others.
Our premiered track, “Wake N Bake” on side B1 delivers a taste of Dragomir’s signature sound, a charming blend of unexpected twists, industrial-like synths and deep undertones that take us on an immersive, introspective journey. Drumsticks, puzzling vocals and an infectious bassline pave the way before the track gradually unfolds into a myriad of sounds, culminating in a blissful end.
Flipping back to the A-side, “Dark Sinergy” on A1 opens the EP with staccato vocals, stripped down grooves, and a heavy low end. The storyline unfolds into an animated journey, perfectly suited to a peak-time moment in a late-night set.
Last but not least, we move on to Volkan Akin’s lively reinterpretation of “Wake N Bake” on B2. A proper closing to this captivating EP, the remix brings a high-spirited bassline and funky synths, wrapping up the journey with charm.
